An historic day on May 3rd at Queens Park as all parties unanimously agreed to the changes in the WSIB Act. By doing so without debate, the bill passed second and third reading and will be law by May 4th.
We owe a great deal of thanks to MPP Anrea Horwath who brought the issue to the forefront with her Bill (The Bob Shaw Bill). We would be remiss though if we did not thank the Hamilton Liberal MPP's Jennifer Mossop, Judy Marsales, Ted McMeekin and the Honourable Marie Bountrogianni who from the beginning supported and pledged to do whatever they could to make yesterday happen. Lastly and certainly not least, we must thank Colin Grieve and Paul Atkinson. These two Brothers through their perseverance, professionalism and dedication to all fire fighters made this bill happen. Make no mistake, without them, it would not have happened anytime soon.
